About PBC-DIDM

Practice-Based Coaching Data-Informed Decision Making (PBC-DIDM) is a Model Demonstration Project funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). From 2020 to 2025, the University of Florida, Vanderbilt University, and key partners from six model demonstration sites collaborated to develop the PBC-DIDM Model.

What does it mean to be an OSEP Model Demonstration Project?

OSEP Model Demonstration Projects are…

Funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) of the U.S. Department of Education, model demonstration projects are designed to develop models that local program personnel can implement in everyday environments. They support the development and implementation of a new model, assess its impacts, and examine the associated outcomes to determine whether it is effective in improving outcomes for children with disabilities and their families.

What this means for PBC-DIDM…

The Project Team implemented and evaluated the PBC-DIDM Model across early childhood programs serving young children from birth to age 5 with and without disabilities (early intervention, early care and education, public school PreK, Early Head Start/Head Start). Programs enhanced their capacity to install, implement, and sustain the PBC-DIDM Model as measured by the PBC-DIDM Implementation Profile and other sources of effort and effect data collected throughout the Project. Program Personnel reported that PBC-DIDM was a meaningful and feasible approach for enhancing their capacity to make data-informed decisions about PBC and related learning experiences that support positive outcomes for leadership teams, coaches, practitioners, children, and their families.
